NEW BUSINESS
Municipal Fire Alarm System Monitoring and Report Duplication
Fire Chief John Oates led a general discussion on the increases he is proposing. The system monitors approximately 40 properties town-wide. Through the fire alarm division of the East Hartford Fire Department, research indicated that other municipalities and commercial alarm services charged significantly more than what the town presently charges. The Chief did not have that information with him, but indicated that he would forward it to the Fees Committee members.

to recommend that the Town Council approve the request of the
East Hartford Fire Department to revise the fees charged for
monitoring the Municipal Fire Alarm system and the fees charged
for the duplication of fire and other incident reports as indicated
in a letter from Fire Chief John Oates to Mayor Melody Currey,
dated July 19, 2010 and more specifically as follows:
Annual fee for monitoring the Municipal Fire Alarm System: $325.00
Duplication of Fire and other Incident Reports:
$ 5.00 for the completed report
$ 1.00 for postage
$15.00 processing fee
$21.00 total fee for each report
